Today, at Christ Church College, Kanpur, a seminar was organised on the topic of ‘How to Prepare for Civil Services’.
The event was orchestrated under the guidance of the college’s principal, Joseph Daniel, and was organised by the Career Counselling Cell, headed by Professor Meet Kamal.
The key speakers for the event were Avadh Ojha Sir, Senior Faculty at IQRA IAS, and the Director, Shah Faisal, with scholars Dhirendra Singh and Mayank Singh.
Avadh Ojha sir emphasized the importance of a strong foundation and mentioned that without it, success is unattainable. He highlighted that in today’s times, the IAS is the pinnacle of achievement. He shared a profound thought that fear doesn’t lead to victory; instead, it leads to depression.
Discipline, achievements, a proper timetable, and dedication are essential. He stressed the importance of strength and enthusiasm, noting that 98% of people lack the ability to make self-decisions. Mental strength is crucial for success. He urged everyone to focus on their goals and highlighted four key aspects: learning, respect, discipline, and foundation.
He mentioned that where there are options, there’s no confusion. Question framing and the medium of instruction in the civil services exam are vital, but success is achievable in any medium.
The event saw the active participation of the college’s vice-principal, Veena Bora, Dr. Ankita, Jasmine Lal, Prof. Arunesh Shukla, Prof. Ashish Bute, Prof. Ashish Omar, Prof. Manish Kapoor, Prof. Shalini Kapoor, and students from the Career Counselling Cell including Anjali Chauhan, Ujjwal Batra, Prachi Gupta, Vaishnavi Dixit, Nimisha Mishra, Abhishek Shrivastava, Krishna Kanaujia, Vivek Paul, Veer Manu Tch Malhotra, Yash Vishwakarma, Anuradha Sharma, and many others.
